"what a great day"
"Canada is a great country," my wife said, as we hiked through the changing autumn colours.
"Really?"
"Sure," she told me. "We can be in middle of Toronto and forty minutes later-"
"Be three kilometres away, stuck in traffic?"
"-be hiking in a forest."
She's right. We came down to St. Catharines mid-day yesterday and spent the night at Grandma's. We then decided to take the advice of a coworker and head to the Forks of the Credit provincial park for a stroll through the colors. We also managed to ride an old 4-4-0 steam train (my personal favorite style), an hour-long jaunt through the hills north-west of Toronto. A fair bit of driving, all in, but Mari really enjoyed it, saying repeatedly, "What a great day." At the park, The Boy enjoyed running around on the trails and dodging the tufts from the milkweed so much that he told us in both languages, "I want to come back here."
